Student Council

Shiloh Student Council is a member of the Kickapoo District Student Council and the Illinois Association of Student Councils. We provide student government for Shiloh High School and sponsor many school and community activities throughout the year. Being a member of Council provides many leadership opportunities.

Student Council members must follow the rules and guidelines for all extra-curricular activities. Members must also follow the rules and guidelines in the Student Council Constitution which is voted on by Council and can be amended at any time by Council.

Activities

  • Homecoming: coronation, dance, spirit week activities
  • Food Baskets: bribe a teacher week, community service project, shared with NHS
  • Winterfest: Grand March, dance, spirit week activities (games)
  • District Functions: Fall picnic, Fall workshop, Winter Retreat, Hospitality Night, District Convention, District officers
  • State Convention: honor delegates
  • Community Service Hours: each member one hour per month, 25-30 hours of service per month
  • Teacher's Tea: shows appreciation
  • Fundraising: maintain master calendar for all fundraisers, raise money for leadership camps and conventions
  • Miscellaneous: fill pop machines, elections, host a district function
